Robert Rodriguez to direct X-Men Origins: Deadpool
The Sin City director Robert Rodriguez who is currently involved in the making of the Danny Trejo starring thriller Machete has been given another offer for direction. And that movie is Deadpool the Twentieth Century Fox’s X-Men franchise movie also known as X-Men Origins: Deadpool which would star Ryan Reynolds in a lead role.
The flick will entirely focus on the origins of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), his powers and abilities and also explore reasons behind him wearing a mask and his immortality. Furthermore Deadpool will also introduce some of his allies including Cable Blind Al, Weasel and also the X-Men and X-Force.
In related news his science fiction Adrien Brody starring Predators has grossed over $100 million worldwide to date since its July release after the initial budget for the flick was reported to be only $ 40 million.
But the question is would Rodriguez make a good Deadpoool movie? According to the fans sites that have been overflowing with opinions. but we will have to wait and see. One other point that has to be mentioned is that Rodriguez’s choice by the producers is indeed an interesting one considering other directors who are pros and eagerly waiting for comic book adaptations.
Finally, Ryan Reynolds who played the anti hero role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is awaiting the release of his flick Buried later this year.
Old TV fames on the mini screen
Do you remember undiscovered (2005) movie? Ashlee Simpson Wentz was led main role and reality show presenter comes to small screen with old TV stars including 45 years old “friends” actress Courteney Cox.
Aftetr few days they will again stars in a tv. Team of stars chatted to telkevision critic assoiciation press tour last week. “White Collar” TV star Tiffani Thiessen , X-Men(2000) super girl Rebecca Romijn and 32 years old stunnig The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) actor Dominic Monaghan also posed to the press tour.
Hugh Jackman attached to Ghostopolis
Hot off his turn as Wolverine in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Hugh Jackman is attached to star in “Ghostopolis,” a Disney flick a la “Medium.”
Based on a graphic novel by Doug TenNapel, “Ghostopolis” follows a man who works for the government’s Supernatural Immigration Task Force (I Googled it and couldn’t find such a real-life task force; doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, though. Sounds very X-Files.)
It’s the job of this agent to send ghosts who’ve escaped from their world back to Ghostopolis. But when a living boy is accidentally sent there, the agent teams with a female ghost (and former flame, natch) to make things right again and bring the boy home.
No director or writer is attached yet, but it’s being produced by Jackman’s Seed Productions and Gotham Group, which produced last year’s “The Spiderwick Chronicles.” There were some pretty fantastic special effects in that movie, so hopefully more of the same with “Ghostopolis.”
By the way, Seed Productions is run by Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness and John Palermo. They’re working up several comic book projects, including “Nowhere Man” from Virgin Comics.

Halle Berry to get her own X-Men movie?
Could Halle Berry be getting her own “X-Men” movie? She will if she has anything to say about it.
In the first three “X-Men” films, Berry played Storm, a weather-controlling mutant who rocked a skin-tight outfit pretty well. She hopes to revive the character in her own prequel, following in the footsteps of Hugh Jackman, whose “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” opened in theaters Friday.
“I think that would be great,” says Berry. “Storm deserves her own movie — if I can still fit into the suit.”
Somehow, I don’t think that will be a problem. I’d love to see Storm get her own movie, too.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” – Official Trailer
“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” hits theaters May 1, 2009. We get to learn the backstory of Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, who enters the Mutant X program after seeking vengeance on Victor Creed/Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) for killing his girlfriend.
I think this will probably be a major blockbuster to kick off the summer movie season this year. Also stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Dominic Monaghan as Barnell Bohusk/Beak, and Taylor Kitsch as Remy LeBeau/Gambit. Not rated yet, but I’d be surprised if it wasn’t PG-13. Visit the official “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” site, and check out the trailer:
