Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson unveil new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer
Shia LaBeouf makes no bones about “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” being a fun action-flick. He, Michael Bay and Tyrese Gibson unveiled the movie’s new trailer at a special IMAX screening in L.A.
“The movie is not overtly complicated,” LaBeouf says. “It wasn’t built for extreme pontification or self exploration. It’s built for fun and enjoyment and escapism. It’s the only movie that I’ve ever been a part of where you can drive down the street and literally see decals of your movies on other cars.”
After the jump, watch the trailer and clip of the stars…
The sequel finds LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky being taken prisoner by the Decepticons, but thank goodness the Autobots got his back. Look for it in IMAX and conventional theaters on June 24, 2009.

Michael Bay spills on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” screaming into theaters June 24, 2009. Summer blockbuster!
We haven’t really known much about it, but director Michael Bays is starting to spill details here and there. In a recent interview with MTV, he revealed a few things:
There’s no car chase in the movie. “In some movies, it’s the same action throughout the entire movie. There’s a lot of different types of action in this one, and that makes it interesting.”
We’ll see Devastator in IMAX. Instead of the 3D format everyone else is doing, Bay shot parts of the film in IMAX. One of the three scenes he shot in IMAX will focus on the biggest of all the Transformers, Devastator (formed when several Decepticons come together). “It’s the first movie to do serious digital effects in IMAX quality,” he said.
Megan Fox is still sexy. “[Wait until you see] the very first shot in the movie,” said Bay, responding to whether Fox gets a scene like her memorable hood-opening scene.
“[While filming] I was at a gas station buying ice cream bars, and these 15-year-old boys were looking at me. They were like, ‘You’re that dude that directed “Transformers”!’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah. Do you want to see “Transformers 2″? They were like, ‘Yeah!’ I said, ‘Why do you want to see it?’ And together, in unison, they said, ‘The hot chick!’”
“It will be a good shot for them,” he laughed.
