Bedtime Stories, Doubt on DVD – April 7, 2009
New on DVD this week is “Bedtime Stories,” a sweet movie with a magical twist. If you’re in need of a family flick with no violence or sexual overtones, this is the one. Here’s the DVD rundown this week:
Bedtime Stories (PG). Adam Sandler and Keri Russell star in this fun movie about a guy who tells his niece and nephew bedtime stories – that magically come true the next day!
The Day the Earth Stood Still (PG-13). The special effects are the real star of this remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic, along with Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly and Jaden Smith. [
The Tale of Despereaux (G). It’s a gentle tale of a small mouse who brings sunlight back to a dark kingdom.
Doubt (PG-13). Meryl Streep plays a fiercely traditional nun who takes on a priest (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whom she suspects behaved inappropriately to a black student.
Yes Man (2-Disc Special Edition & Digital Copy, PG-13). Jim Carrey brings the funny in this movie about a banker who starts saying Yes to everything.
No Country for Old Men (3-Disc Collector’s Edition & Digital Copy, R). The Coen Brothers and stars Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin make a classic film out of Cormac McCarthy’s novel. This 3-Disc version includes 5 hours of additional bonus material.
