Dancing With the Stars: TV Guide Photo Shoot
This is a totally fun video clip for fans of Dancing With the Stars! In it, the final four couples this season talk about being on the show while they do a photo shoot for TV Guide Magazine. We get to see them posing, being made up for the cameras and casually talking in between it all.
Be sure to stay with it all the way to the end, because Ty Murray clowns it up and has Chelsea Hightower giggling. It’s very cute!

Dancing With the Stars: Shawn Gilles Talk About the Results
After winning the 8th season of Dancing With the Stars, Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas stopped to talk a bit with a correspondent from TV Guide.
Shawn says that the mirror-ball trophy feels like her second gold medal. Mark was obviously very moved by winning too. Even though a lot of people were upset that Gilles or Melissa didn’t win, Shawn has obviously got tons of fans because it was their votes that put her over the top. Check it out:
And it’s so amazing how graceful both Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke were after coming so close to winning. Gilles said that it was fitting that Shawn would win. She’s 17 years old and he’s 33 years old. He wanted her to win. WOW! How cool is he?

Dancing With the Stars 8: Final 3 Pairs on GMA

After last night’s amazing season finale of Dancing With the Stars, all three of the finalist pairs were guests on Good Morning America today. They danced for the crowds and showed off why they were the final three.
I found some great photos of them dancing on GMA, as well as a very cute photo of Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas with their masks from last night. All I can say is that season 9 had better be fabulous, if it’s going to live up to this season…

Dancing With the Stars 8: Shawn Johnson Mark Ballas Win!

Last night was the exciting season 8 finale of Dancing With the Stars. I was honestly ready to see any of the three win it this season. They were all three amazing! Amid performances by Lady Gaga and all of this season’s dancers, we saw repeat performances by the final three couples. All three final performances were given perfect 30 scores by the judges, so it all came down to the viewers’ votes.
First, we had to see Melissa Rycroft & her partner Tony Dovolani get eliminated. Then we found out that Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas were the seaosn 8 winners. Apolo Ohno told Shawn that no Olympian who made it to the finals had left without winning the trophy. She certainly took it to heart, because she danced fabulously!

I’m not surprised that Melissa didn’t get as manay audience votes as the other two, since she is so new to the celebrity world. But after being the consistent leader all season and being as totally hunky as he is, I was surprised that Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke didn’t win.
But overall, there were three of the most wonderful dancers ever in the finale this season.

Dancing With the Stars: Dance Center
I can’t help myself. The most hilarious and fun part of every season of Dancing With the Stars for me is the occasional Dance Center segment. The first person to be voted off of the second season of Dancing With the Stars, Kenny Mayne who is an ESPN sports anchorman in real life, anchors the fake commentary about the season’s competition.
He is so funny. He always wears an amazing amount of very feminine makeup and acts so serious about the whole thing. But almost everything he says comes out sounding clueless. And to make it even funnier, his sidekicks include judge Len Goodman, whom he cuts off in the middle of is sentences nearly every time he tries to talk. And the other sidekick is season 2 great dancer Jerry Rice, wearing crazy makeup and outfit too. The three of them act so seriously when they give their silly, fun commentary, I love it. This week we saw two segments of Dance Center. The first segment is about 3 minutes into this clip.
And the second segment is about a minute into this clip:

Derek Hough Talks About His Band’s New CD
I just want to start by saying that the Hough siblings are two of the most talented people on earth! Both Derek & Julianne are amazing dancers, and now they both have launched their musical careers too. And don’t let me forget their fellow dance friend, Mark Ballas who is also a part of the Ballas Hough Band. These three are incredibly talented!
Here’s an interview Derek Hough did for Reality Chat recently where he talks about the fact that he and Mark Ballas grew up together in London. (Who knew?) Then he tells of the fact that the band goes across the street after the live results show of Dancing With the Stars and performs live at The Grove in Los Angeles. What I wouldn’t give to be at one of those performances!

Dancing With the Stars 8: Steve-O Heads Home

The number of dancers with injuries this season on Dancing With the Stars is at an all-time high. And Steve-O, in spite of his previous career being filled with him trying to injure himself in strange and exotic ways, has been no exception. He hurt his back and was unable to even perform live one week. Yet his many fans kept him in the competition in spite of it all.
But, we all knew it was time for his run on the show to come to an end. It just had to happen.
I am personally very happy to see that he made it through rehab and has managed to stay sober for months now. I hope he continues to stay sober and to take care of himself. He’s spent many self-destructive years so far and it was time to grow up. Good for him!
I do have to admit that I have been completely surprised by how well he actually did do on the show. When he was announced as one of the dancers, I was expecting him to maybe last a week. He evidently has a very large fan base and he really did put his heart into his dance performances, even if they didn’t make it to professional level.
I wish him well in his future and can say that I’m glad that he was on this season of the show. Even though he’s no dancer, he does seem to be getting his life on the right track and that deserves our respect.
So long, Steve-O. It was great having you on this season of DWTS.
So who do you think will be the next to go home? Who do you think is going to win this season? Let us know!

Dancing With the Stars 8: Tonight’s Performance Show

Tonight marked the halfway point in this season of Dancing With the Stars. It’s becoming very clear who will probably make it to the final three and who will not. After tonight’s performances, I think it’s a slam dunk that Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke, as well as Lil Kim & Derek Hough will be in the final three. My big indecision is between Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani and Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas. Those two teams are both very close in their skills and it will be interesting to see who does better as the season progresses.
As for this week, sadly, I think the bottom two will follow the judges’ scores. It seems clear to me that the two who deserve this week’s dance-off are Steve-O & Lacey Schwimmer and Ty Murray & Chelsea Hightower. I just don’t think they will be here much longer. Overall, it’s a good season with lots of interesting dancers. Here are my comments on tonight’s performances:

Judges’ Scores
|

| Style | Review | Inaba | Goodman | Tonioli | Total |
| Jive | Ty Murray & Chelsie Hightower – Started off very tense, but loosened up about midway. He did lose the steps once, but he was a lot looser than last week. I think he might be in the bottom two this week. |

Dancing With the Stars Dancers Behind the Scenes
I found these wonderful photos of the Dancing With the Stars dancers before the performance show last week. Steve-O is practicing some of the moves by himself, Julianne Hough is wearing a pretty dress with flip-flops and Mark Ballas is grabbing a snack while he and Shawn Johnson walk along. And look at Melissa Rycroft in her dance costume! I’m sure she got a lot of attention in it!!

Shawn Johnson Mark Ballas Go For Burgers
All that dance practice definitely works up a healthy appetite and Dancing With the Stars dancers Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas are no exception. The paparazzi took some cool photos of them this week as they took a break from dance practice to go to Hamburger Haven in Beverly Hills.
You can just get a glimpse of Shawn’s mom, who went with them to lunch, but she definitely was there. Shawn is still only 17 years old. That’s too young for a person to be on set without a parent or guardian present. I think Shawn just looks like such a sweet girl. She has that wholesome look about her. And she sure is learning to be a pretty good dancer too!
