The supposed to be wearing red, Red Riding Hood rather Amanda Seyfried is seen in a pale blue outfit instead.
In the photos are also Lukas Haas, Gary Oldman, Virginia Madsen and Julie Christie, all of whom could be spotted wearing quite odd costumes. The basic plot described for Red Riding Hood is more or less that of the typical story by the Grimm Brothers. However in this movie adaptation we have werewolf instead of a wolf and of course a love story involving Red and an orphaned wood cutter.
While the Dear John actress would play Red Riding Hood, Gary Oldman will play Father Soloman Virginia Madsen as Red’s Mother and Shiloh Fernandez as Peter who is Red’s love interest. For the 16th to18th weekend, we had two new movies which entered the U.S. Box office. They were Christopher Nolan’s Inception and Jon Turteltaub’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
It is truly nice when an original piece of work gets all the praise and reward it deserves and undoubtedly this time it was for Inception making $60M in its first three days of release. Well it looks as though it has earned back more than one third of its original budget of 160 million in a matter of three days.
Furthermore for Leonardo DiCaprio, Inception would be the biggest opening of all-time after Shutter Island ($41 million) which opened this year while Director Christopher Nolan holds this record for The Dark Knight which opened with $158M in 200, but he should be quite satisfied with this great opening which turns out to be the 6th biggest opening of the year so far.
Despicable Me Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin’s animated flick crossed the $100 million mark in only its second week of release after its weekend earnings of 32 million. This is still only a little more than half of the massive weekend earnings of Inception.
While the first and the second places are occupied by Inception and Despicable Me, respectively The Sorcerer’s Apprentice in its first weekend of release gets hold of the third place with $17.4 million and $24.5 million in cumulative box office since a Wednesday.
The teen vampire flick, Twilight Saga : Eclipse is holding on to one of the top 5 positions with a $13.5 million weekend haul and hence takes its domestic gross to $265 million.
Right behind Eclipse is Toy Story 3 this summer’s blockbuster which earned in another $11.7 million taking its gross to $362.7 million. As for the top 10s Toy Story 3 is so far the number one highest grossing movie of the year while Eclipse is still 100 million behind it and also $32M behind final gross of its prequel New Moon.
Predators could be said to be performing quite badly since it dropped like a rock this past weekend going from 3rd to 7th place. Having said that Predators is still considered to be a success since its initial budget of $ 40 has been covered up by its domestic earnings
During the next weekend we will see the release of Salt starring Angelina Jolie and hence Inception could expect some competition but with plenty of time ahead for Salt’s release Inception could spread enough and more news about this classic movie.
Until next weekend let’s keep our fingers crossed
Doing some hard work to set aside a place for Christopher Nolan highly anticipated upcoming science-fiction thriller Inception is its cast consisting of Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, and Ellen Page. They showed up for the UK premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square in London among the massive fan base with whom they spoke signed autographs and even posed for pictures.
As stated by The Shutter Island star earlier that if one does not like the publicity given by this industry to get out of it he seemed to be proving the point by clearly enjoying being at the big event along with the two beauties. As far as the film projects are concerned DiCaprio is said to be likely to star in the massive film called The Wolf of Wall Street directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Martin Scorsese.
Meanwhile Oscar winner Marion Cotillard will be Colin Farrell’s leading lady in the in DreamWorks’ Fright Night remake Cosmopolis by star director David Cronenberg. And Oscar nominated actress Ellen Page (Juno) has dropped out of Sam Raimi’s upcoming film Drag Me to Hell due to scheduling conflicts but however it is said that she has plenty of projects down the line which are not announced of as yet.
Promotional duties are a must for any movie that is nearing its release and this time the cast of the science-fiction thriller flick Inception including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page and a few others were spotted at the Dorchester Hotel in London England on 7th July 2010.
A photo call session for Inception was later organized and it looked as though they thoroughly enjoyed themselves during the shoot. Inception is considered to be a very much anticipated movie of 2010 and the reasons are quite obvious.
The director for Inception also the director of The Dark Night is one of high caliber. The sophisticated cast including Academy nominee and Golden Globe winner Leonardo DiCaprio and Juno actress Ellen Page and let’s not forget the storyline that is very creative and innovative of extracting and implanting ideas from the human mind.
And the reasons could be piled up one over the other but the above are the main ones. How long the fans have to wait to watch it and get an experience of a life time is exactly a week (16th July 2010). Many reckon Inception has a very good chance of winning or at least getting nominated by prestigious awarding bodies
Quite a number of Inception photos have been released online and it depicts them to be very deep in emotion, thoughts to be gone astray and deceiving. Inception follows a man named Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is a stealer, but Cobb isn’t an ordinary robber. He is a person who could effectively steal any person’s ideas, information plans ect from their mind.
And now he is faced with the task of planting an idea rather than stealing them. He may be a master at extracting information, but effective could he turn out to be in implanting them? This whole new concept of this mind-bending science-fiction thriller is one aspect of the movie, the writer and director Christopher Nolan should be given credit to.
Apart from the Dark Knight Director who has the capability of drawing the attention of the audience with his unique storylines and his ability to put them in a mind-blowing fashion to gain appreciation from them, we also have Leonardo, who leads the cast and is just amazing to watch. This actor-director combination could be one factor that will make movie fans to flock in to the theatres when it kicks off on 16th July 2010.
