Blake lively said “She’s going through an identity crisis because she doesn’t know her father, which is really pretty major. Carter, who has been portrayed as a ‘bad guy’ in a lot of ways is bringing her here to her father, so it’s interesting to see the other sides of Carter. Serena explores that. Serena explores herself. Serena has to deal with her life without knowing her father, knowing he’s there. Also, there’s a wedding in the works for Lily and Rufus so the dynamic between the Humphries and the van der Woodsen’s – Dan, Serena, Serena potentially going to Brown but dealing with such a major thing in her life, how can she go off to a school while she still has so much on her plate here? So there are major decisions she has to make and a lot of really heavy things going on all around her, When things go bad, she tends to go a little wild, which is always fun for the audience,”

She said she miss others lot as they were one family. “We have really such a terrific crew on the show. We are so fortunate that everybody we work with we love. We look forward to seeing them everyday. They’re our best friends. I would say I miss that the most,” Lively said.
