Paramount Pictures has signed a deal with the Tom Cruise to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt and it seems that he is safe for now while a question mark still remains with his action thriller flick Knight and Day with Cameron Diaz under performing at the box office.
While Tom Cruise is considered to be very popular among foreign audiences and with Knight and Day still to hit many foreign theaters Paramount is said to be closely watching how it does overseas. Well there is some chance left for the movie to do well, but if not Paramount may well back off.
In related news the potential candidates for Mission Impossible VI before Tome Cruise was selected were 24 year old actor director Shia LaBeouf English born Aussie actor Sam Worthington and Donnie Darko star Jake Gyllenhaal.
