The Rum Diary Movie first photos released now

A new official photo of The Rum Diary has been released and it portrays Johnny Depp as protagonist Paul Kemp who with another two men seem to have reached their destination as they stare at something while off their ancient vehicle.

Based on a novel of the same name by Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary is directed by Academy/Golden Globe nominee Bruce Robinson (Withnail and I (1997), Jennifer Eight (1992)) and follows the journalist, Paul Kemp. Being an employee as writer of a newspaper in the Caribbean, Paul faces a turning point in his life when he meets a woman with whom he is obsessed with.

The Pirates of the Caribbean (2007, 2003) star and Academy/ Golden Globe Award winner Johnny Depp along with the Robinson seem to be the main strengths of the movie. Depp’s other acting credits include, Alice in Wonderland (2010), Charlie and the Chocolate factory (2005), Finding Neverland (2004) etc.

The Rum Diary Movie is planned for limited release in 2010 within the USA.
