Regeneration Begins with Universal Soldier 4 In 3D

Talking about the Universal Soldier Series, it is being said that after the release of Universal Soldier: Regeneration early this year, the sequel (Universal Soldier IV) to it is under development as of now. Both Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren will reprise their roles with John Hyams returning to directing of Universal Soldier IV. This will be the Sixth Universal Soldier movie, but however, according to “official” canon, it is the fourth in the series.

To have this movie in production so soon, it could be presumed that “Universal Soldier: Regeneration” earned quite well on DVD and Blu-ray. What would be different with the upcoming movie is that it would be shot in 3-D and the first movie to be in 3-D in the whole series and is assumed to be for theatrical release. It has to be brought to your notice that, in contrast, Universal Soldier: Regeneration was a direct-to-DVD release.

However, we could say, with this surprising shift, that many people will be out of the loop story-wise and shooting a DTV movie in 3-D does not seem wise too and hence there could be problems with the widespread acceptance of this movie. And the last question open to the viewers is, “How many of you think Universal Soldier: regeneration did so well for the series to return with a sequel to it?”
