Nutcracker and the Rat King Movie Poster

A new poster of the upcoming fantasy family movie, Nutcracker and the Rat King which is scheduled for release on 15th September 2010, has been released. The poster shows a Christmas Bauble on which is engraved “The Nut Cracker in 3-D” Nutcracker and the Rat King is directed Andrey Konchalovskiy and will star Elle Fanning and Aaron Michael Drozin in leading roles.

The story is based in 1920s and follows Mary (Elle Fanning), a nine-year-old living in Vienna with her family and surrounded by, nothing, but loneliness. Her family includes neglecting parents and an annoying brother named Max (Aaron Michael Drozin).  On Christmas Eve, Mary’s Uncle Albert (Nathan Lane) arrives with the gift of a wooden nutcracker doll and later that night, Mary’s imagination brings the doll to life.
The companionship and adventure she yearned for is about to begin.

Named NC, he takes Mary on a wondrous journey through a stunning dimension where toys assume human form and everything appears ten times larger. But, soon danger strikes when an army of rats lead by flamboyant Rat King (John Turturro) and his mother unleash a plot to overthrow humanity.

Meanwhile NC is captured and kept under a paralytic spell and hence Mary, Max and some other friendly toys must rescue him and destroy Rat King’s wicked plans.
