With "High School Musical 3" under his belt, Zac Efron is saying that he would like some more challenging roles.

The HSM franchise obviously has done well for him and boosted him into a level of fame I am sure he never dreamed of, but he’s now on the look out for something a little different. He has even said he would consider doing an "independent film" if he believed in the project. Some of my all time favorite movies are independent films. I say go for it!

High School Musical 3 wasn’t the only film that Zac worked on this year. He was also cast as the lead in Richard Linklater’s Me and Orson Welles.

Do we see the bright lights of Broadway in Zac’s future?

He said, "I can’t say for certain how big a factor musicals will play in my career, but I will always be open to them.

"Broadway would be an adventure. It requires a skill set that I’d have to rediscover. There is nothing like the thrill of performing for a live audience."

I can definitely see Zac heading to Broadway, do you?
