Hard at work on her new movie, Leighton Meester shot scenes for “The Roommate” in Los Angeles on Friday evening (May 1).

In the Sony Screen Gems film, Meester plays a character named Sara, described as “a college student who is randomly assigned to a freshman dorm with a stranger named Rebecca. Things turn deadly when Rebecca becomes obsessed and begins targeting people in Sara’s life.”

Meanwhile, Miss Meester has also been readying for the release of her upcoming studio album.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly about her new disc, Leighton boasts, “It’s very pop. You can listen to it on the radio. You can listen to it in your car. You can dance to it. There is somewhat of a sexual undertone to a lot of songs. I’m a grown woman (laughs).”
