Gordon Gekko Making a Comeback

Filed in: celebrity by admin on 10-14-08

wallstreet1 It looks like Gordon Gekko might be making a comeback. Is greed still good? I guess we’ll find out.

The “Wall Street” sequel, called “Money Never Sleeps,” is being written by Allan Loeb, who wrote “21″ and created the Fox TV series “New Amsterdam,” which I’m still miffed about being canceled.

Michael Douglas, who played the character in the original, is not yet attached, but says he’ll look at the script. No word on whether Oliver Stone, who co-wrote and directed the 1987 original, will return.

“Wall Street” is a great movie, really pivotal in film history. Michael Douglas won an Oscar for Best Actor, and the film had another six wins and two nominations. I hope they do justice to a sequel, and there’s certainly plenty of greed in the world to draw on. Still, you know how these sequels can go oh so wrong…
